ProjectACEi presented at Women Deliver, Denmark

Women Deliver is a multi-national organisation that believes that the health, rights and well being of girls and women across the globe is everyone’s responsibility. ProjectACEi’s founder, Alimatu Dimonekene was a guest speaker at Women Deliver’s recent conference in Copenhagen.

With 6,000 attendees from 169 countries, the Women Deliver 2016 Conference was the largest on girls’ and women’s health, rights, and well being in more than a decade. It was also the first major global conference of its kind following the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focus of the conference was on how to implement the SDGs so they matter most for girls and women, with a specific focus on health – in particular maternal, sexual, and reproductive health and rights – and on gender equality, education, environment, and economic empowerment.

Guest speakers also included Melinda Gates, Jessica Biel and Annie Lennox.

Alimatu focused on Female Genital Mutilation: “I Realised I Didn’t Need to be Silent”, part of the ‘Tough Talks’ series – honest interviews that take a very close look at the biggest challenges facing girls and women today.
